Book Review: AI for Absolute Beginners by Anne Hansen

Introduction Artificial Intelligence has become one of the most talked-about technologies of our time. Yet, for many people, AI still feels intimidating, overly technical, or simply too complicated to understand. AI for Absolute Beginners by Anne Hansen successfully bridges this gap by transforming a complex subject into an approachable learning experience designed for everyday people rather than technology experts.  Unlike many AI books that focus heavily on programming concepts or advanced technical discussions, Hansen takes a refreshingly practical approach. She assumes no prior knowledge and patiently walks readers through the fundamentals before gradually introducing real-world applications. The result is a book that feels more like learning from an encouraging mentor than reading a technical manual. One of the book's greatest strengths is its central philosophy: you don't need to become an AI expert—you simply need to learn how to use AI effectively. This mindset remov...

Why we must not trust blindly? Vidur Niti Part 1

Trust no one
When we talk about the greatest philosophers of all time then we remember Chanakya, Socrates, etc but most people do not know anything about Vidur. Vidur was one of the famous philosophers of his time. He was a servant's son and hence he didn't become the king. But because of his intelligence, he became Prime Minister of Hastinapur. His teachings are called Vidur Neeti and his teachings are so much relevant even in today's times. Let us study some of his teachings in detail.
1) Talk less and listen more: Person with good listening skills is appreciated everywhere and the person who boasts about himself more is criticized everywhere. The same thing is being taught In every B school today. There is also an analogy that when we speak then we just repeat our knowledge but when we listen then we will get new knowledge.
2) Five things always give us happiness: i) Getting money, ii) Better health, iii) obedient child, iii) loving wife/husband, iv) knowledge. The person remains happy when he gets money for his hard work but there is no use of money if his health is not good hence his health also makes him happy. A person who has an obedient child and a loving wife also remains happy. Ultimately if we have knowledge or skill by which we can feed our family then that knowledge also brings us happiness.
3) If you have a bad company then you will have a miserable end: Whenever a criminal act was done by someone and he ran away from the police then the police start interrogating his near and dear ones. Similarly, if we have friends with a bad image then our seniors build our bad image in their minds. There is also a saying that wet wood also starts burning with dry wood. Hence we must select our friends very wisely.
Bad and Good
4) People who want success must remain away from these six bad habits: i) Excess sleep: Successful people do not sleep every time as they have a reason to wake up and do more, ii) Yawning: Vidur says yawning is our greatest enemy and we must do our job very diligently, iii) Fear: We must be fearless in order to become successful in life as people who have fear always think about failures, iv) Laziness: successful people know that they must never be lazy and whatever they have to do is to be done without any delay,

v) Procrastination: Successful people never think about the difficulty of doing anything and they just start working on their projects enthusiastically.

5) A person who is not worthy of trust must not be trusted but if we know that a person is very trustworthy then also we must not trust him freely. As we all know that when trust is broken then it feels very bad hence we must never trust blindly on anyone. There is also a very famous film of Shahrukh Khan where his father trusts blindly on his trustworthy business partner and went for a foreign trip. When he returned from his trip then he found that all of his fortunes were taken over by his business partner. Ultimately his father becomes so much frustrated that he takes the ultimate step of taking his own life by suicide.
Vidur Neeti was written five thousand years ago but it is so much relevant even today and if we see then we will find that many famous authors also focussed on the above-mentioned points. We will read the other five learnings in our next writing piece.

Why Greek Athletes Imagined Losing Before They Won

Introduction Fear has stopped more dreams than failure ever has. Many people believe they struggle because they lack talent, resources, intelligence, or opportunity. In reality, the biggest obstacle is often much simpler: fear. Fear of failure. Fear of rejection. Fear of embarrassment. Fear of not being good enough. These fears silently influence decisions every day. They prevent people from speaking up in meetings, starting businesses, applying for promotions, pursuing relationships, or taking risks that could transform their lives. What is fascinating is that thousands of years ago, long before psychology textbooks and neuroscience laboratories existed, ancient Greek athletes had already discovered a powerful method for dealing with fear. Instead of trying to avoid failure, they mentally embraced it. This practice, known as prokatalepsis , was a form of mental preparation that helped athletes free themselves from the emotional grip of fear and perform at their highest level. Today, m...
