The Story of Sukanya and Sage Chyavana

Introduction In Sanatan Scriptures, Sukanya was the daughter of King Sharyati, son of Vaivasvata Manu, and later became the wife of the great sage Chyavana. The sage had spent so many years in deep meditation that his body was covered by an anthill and a bird’s nest had formed over him. One day, the young and curious Sukanya noticed two shining objects inside the nest. Unaware that they were the sage’s eyes, she playfully poked at them, causing him to lose his sight. SDG GOALS

Introduction The Sustainable Developmental Goals (SDG Goals), also called Global Goals are a result of the universal call of 193 countries of the UN General Assembly. On 25th December 2015, all these countries adopted the 2030 development agenda titled Transforming our World: 2030 Development Agenda for Sustainable Development. There are 17 Sustainable Developmental Goals listed which aim at ending poverty, reducing economic inequality, protecting the environment, and ensuring justice and peace for all. United Nations 17 Sustainable Goals 1.
