The Story of Sukanya and Sage Chyavana

Introduction In Sanatan Scriptures, Sukanya was the daughter of King Sharyati, son of Vaivasvata Manu, and later became the wife of the great sage Chyavana. The sage had spent so many years in deep meditation that his body was covered by an anthill and a bird’s nest had formed over him. One day, the young and curious Sukanya noticed two shining objects inside the nest. Unaware that they were the sage’s eyes, she playfully poked at them, causing him to lose his sight. Enraged by this act, Chyavana cursed the kingdom, but Sukanya’s father pacified him by offering his daughter’s hand in marriage. Despite Chyavana’s old age and blindness, Sukanya accepted her role as his wife and devotedly cared for him with cheerfulness and loyalty. One day, the celestial physicians of the gods, the Ashwini Kumaras—twin brothers renowned for their beauty and healing powers—saw Sukanya and were struck by her radiant charm. Believing her beauty was better suited for heaven, they asked her to abandon her hus...

7 Steps to Self-Fulfillment: Brian Tracy

7 Steps to Self-Fulfilment Brian Tracy
Introduction:

Self- Fulfilment refers to the feeling of satisfaction that you achieve by doing whatever you want. It’s the feeling of contentment. In today’s busy world, you can easily feel unhappy or feel the need for self-fulfilment. You may feel broke, that is, you do not have enough money, or that your relationships are not where you want them to be. You may wonder that if you get something like Money, a Home, Expensive Car, then, you’ll be happy. But the truth is that real happiness in life or self-fulfillment does not come with material things only. Desires, if uncontrolled and developed irrationally, keeps on increasing day by day. Self-fulfilment can be achieved when you have a mindset for it. Brian Tracy has given 7 steps that you can take to achieve self-fulfilment.

Brian Tracy’s 7 Steps to Feel More Fulfilled and Happy:

1. Surround Yourself With Positivity
According to Brian Tracy, Positivity in life is essential for healthy and happy living. But our environment and the people around us have a huge impact on us, our peace of mind, and our happiness. Take notice of the people around you with whom you spend most of your time. If you find that they have a negative impact on you, your mood, or your attitude, then, change your circle and start connecting with positive people who make you happy and elevates your mood and mental health.
2. Visualize Success
An important step to achieve Self-Fulfilment, in the opinion of Brian Tracy, is Visualizing Success. You should give yourself goals to reach, both, in your personal and professional life. Your desired goals may vary that may include losing weight, going back to school for a higher degree, or drinking more water, etc., which can be achieved if you set tangible goals.
So, after setting these goals, you should implement the plan, step by step, to achieve them. Start spending some time visualizing all that which will take you to be successful. You have to develop a clear vision of your goals to make them more realistic and tangible. A Vision Board is a great tool to help visualize your future and focus on your goals.
3. Celebrate Your Accomplishments
The third step, according to Brian Tracy, is to celebrate your accomplishments, be it big or small. Success and achievements come with a lot of hard work due to which it becomes extremely important for you to celebrate even the smallest of your successes to reward yourself and recognize yourself for a job well done. To do that, you can go out with your friends, but that one thing you have been holding on to, spend a day treating yourself or simply do anything to celebrate your goal accomplishment.
“The act of taking the first step is what separates the winners from the losers.” – Brian Tracy
4. Take Charge
Brian Tracey considers Taking Charge as the fourth step to Self-Fulfilment. We generally tend to put others including our spouse, friend, or other family members, etc., in charge of our happiness. But the truth is that you are responsible for your happiness and fulfillment completely and no one else. We must, therefore, take the matter into our own hands instead of blaming other people or things for our unhappiness and find ways to be Self-fulfilled, irrespective of what comes our way or how people treat us. We should be in charge of our destiny and ourselves even though it may seem to be challenging but is incredibly rewarding.
5. Help Others
Helping others is the fifth step to Self-Fulfilment in the opinion of Brian Tracy. When you share what you have with others, you end up feeling fulfilled yourself. It can include time, money, knowledge, skills, etc. If you use your resources for the benefit of others, you will not only help them out but will also add to your own happiness.
6. Take Care Of Yourself
Brian Tracy mentions the sixth step as Taking care of yourself. It is a great thing to help others but you must not forget to take care of yourself in the process. You should take care of your needs as well and take a rest whenever needed. Leading a healthy and active lifestyle adds to your self-fulfillment. If you do that, you will be able to influence people around you and will be much happier.
7. Find The Good
According to Brian Tracy, the seventh and the last step to Self-Fulfilment is Finding the Good in everything. You might feel that there is hardly anything to cherish in your life sometimes but you must go deeper and acknowledge that whatever is happening, it’s for the good and is absolutely how it should be. Look within yourself and your life to find the situations and people for which you are grateful. Focus on them.

Summary:

Self-fulfilment is not a one-step process that can be done in a second, a minute, or a day. It takes time, patience, and conscious effort. But the above-mentioned 7 steps given by Brian Tracy are practical and must be implemented one by one in our daily lives. You should follow these steps and change your daily rituals to become Self-Fulfilled in your life.
