When Isaac Newton had to work from home

Isaac Newton
Just one month back when someone has told us that work from home is our future then we all might have laughed at him. Employees working in non-IT companies must not have imagined such a situation. This is the major change Novel Coronavirus has brought in our life and it clearly ushered a culture of work from home. Suddenly remote work opportunities started mushrooming and employers have understood that work from home is a better option and it can result in huge cost savings for the organizations. Call centre employees already started work from home just after few days of lockdown. As the government decided to go with complete lockdown to flatten the curve, people are spending maximum time on social media and failed to maintain a work-life balance. We have come up with an inspirational story of Sir Isaac Newton who had taken maximum benefit of lockdown in his lifetime.
Isaac Newton and lockdown
In 1665, when the Great Plague of London took several lives in London England government decided to go with a complete lockdown in the city. Isaac Newton, who was an ordinary student of Trinity College, Cambridge at that time was also directed to go home. People started maintaining social distancing and no one was coming out of their homes. Young Isaac Newton traveled to his family estate in Woolsthorpe Manor, 60 miles northwest of Cambridge. Newton spent one year in isolation and his research work blossomed with new ideas. He was alone and his professors were also away but he focused on the Mathematical research work that he started at Cambridge University. This Mathematical research later became the foundation of his legendary calculus work. Flexible working was his key principle as he even made a hole in his house's shutter for Prism related experiments. These prism related experiments were the roots behind his later works in optics.
And right outside his family estate was that legendary apple tree where an apple bonked his head. His personal secretary Conduit explained, “ As Newton was thinking in a garden, he thought that same gravity (due to which apple fall on the ground from the tree) is not limited to a certain distance from the earth but also extends to other planetary bodies". That year one-fourth of the London population perished just because of that plague but Newton spent that year in complete isolation while doing research. In 1667, Newton joined Cambridge again with several theories in his hands and within six months he was made a University fellow. He never bothered for long working hours and in just two years he was made a professor of Cambridge University. Who knows what you will find while doing work from home just like Newton.

Victor Hugo and Hope
" In trouble, it is necessary to cry out, 'Hope! Hope! and yet again hope!'"-- this was the message of the very famous French writer Victor Hugo to his fellow countryman. Victor Hugo was in exile at that time and his fellow countryman was facing great oppression from the regime. Any problem can be easily resolved when we have hope in our minds and we can never get defeated until we accept our defeat in our mind. We must have hope in our minds and we will definitely come out of this situation.
There is also a very famous fable regarding the frog sitting in boiling water. When we put a frog into the hot water then it will suddenly jump out of the water. But if we place the frog in cold water and gradually increase the temperature of the water then the frog tries to adapt to the gradually rising temperature of the water. The frog does not perceive the danger of the rising temperature and boiled to death. This fable is generally used to show the inability of people to understand the threat of just sitting back and doing nothing to change the status quo. This boiling frog fable is also used to caution the people to be aware of even a small change otherwise they will suffer undesirable results. Many businesses also understood this thing and had taken the necessary steps to change their working methods.
